Why do people say you have to wait for the right girl to come along?

Note: This is not personal, just a scenario.

Scenario is hypothetical, not real.

It makes me cringe when people say "Wait for the right one to come along". I would rather go for it and see if it works even though I myself am not in need of any relationships. If you wait, for how long will you have to wait? If you wait, how many women will a man be missing out on? and don't give me that "all you need is one" crap, it's a foreign idea to me. why not have as much fun as you can before you feel like settling down? how about that?

Also this "good things come to those who wait" is probably not as true these days as it was in an era like the 50's. it's different times. get with the program it's the 21st century. things are done differently now.

Picture a guy who actually follows the quotes i mentioned above. if he just sits there waiting for the right girl to come along, he could be the next 40 year old virgin for crying out loud. and it's not because he wants to be a virgin, but because he is sitting there like a wimp waiting for something that will never happen if he doesn't go for it.

that's the message: go for it not "wait until the right girl comes along"

Answer on Why do people say you have to wait for the right girl to come along?

You're right. People always tell me to wait and the right man will come along, but sitting around waiting for a man is wasting your life away. You should be out proactively meeting as many people as possible and forming your opinions on the type of person you want to eventually marry. You can't do that by waiting for the perfect one to just magically show up on your doorstep. Dating is part of the process. It gives you experience, insight, and an idea of what you want in the long term.

If you want something in life, you have to go for it. You have to create your own destiny. Even if some of your endeavors fall flat, that's just part of the learning process. At least it gives you some life experience, as opposed to absolutely no clue about anything.
